ACAC project: SOGOC mobilizes civil society for reproductive health

The ACAC project brings together SOGOC and six civil society organizations to improve Cameroonian women’s reproductive health and reduce preventable mortality.

For several years, SOGOC has been coordinating the ACAC project (Collective Action for Woman-Centred Abortion Care), which brings together six major Cameroonian civil society organizations around a shared goal: improving women's reproductive health and reducing preventable maternal mortality.

ACAC partners include ACMS, RENATA, CAMNAFAW, ACAFEJ, ASFAC and NOLFOWOP.

The project combines practitioner training, community outreach and institutional advocacy before MINSANTE and MINPROFF. The approach is resolutely multi-stakeholder: doctors, midwives, lawyers, peer educators and community actors work together.

In 2025, ACAC has already reached several thousand women in the Centre, Littoral and West regions, through awareness days, free consultations and family planning sessions.
