The third pillar of SOGOC’s mission: reaching out to women to prevent, inform and guide. The society coordinates national screening campaigns for cervical and breast cancers and supports the roll-out of HPV vaccination among young girls.
Through the I AM SAFE campaign, SOGOC raises awareness among Cameroonian youth about sexual and reproductive health, family planning and unintended pregnancy prevention. Teams of practitioners also train colleagues in post-abortion care (PAC) across public health facilities.
Finally, SOGOC firmly opposes gender-based violence and obstetric violence, in partnership with MINPROFF, UNFPA and UNICEF. Our ambition: ensure every Cameroonian woman receives safe, respectful and high-quality care, wherever she lives.
