Research & advocacy

Supporting Cameroonian clinical research and carrying the voice of OB-GYNs in public health policies, fighting against maternal and neonatal mortality.

02Our missions · 2/3

SOGOC actively supports research in obstetrics and gynecology and Cameroonian scientific output, with a focus on African priorities: maternal health, obstetric hemorrhage, preeclampsia, gynecological cancers and reproductive health.

As the official counterpart of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSANTE), SOGOC carries the voice of practitioners in shaping public policies. The ACAC project (Collective Action for Woman-Centred Abortion Care) mobilises civil society — in partnership with ACMS, RENATA, CAMNAFAW, ACAFEJ, ASFAC and NOLFOWOP — to improve access to safe abortion care.

Each year, SOGOC also takes part in the 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence and advocates for free emergency obstetric care, equipment for rural maternity wards and universal access to family planning.
