Privacy Policy

Preamble

The Society of Gynecologists and Obstetricians of Cameroon (SOGOC) attaches the utmost importance to the protection of the personal data of visitors and members of the sogoc.org website. This policy describes the information collected, its purposes, retention period and your rights.

Data Collected

Personal data is collected exclusively through the forms on the site (contact, membership, congress registration, directory). The following data may be collected:

  • Last name, first name, professional title
  • Contact details (email, phone, professional address)
  • Specialty, place of practice, region
  • Contents of messages sent to SOGOC

Purposes of Processing

Data is processed for the following purposes:

  • Handling contact and membership requests
  • Managing the public practitioner directory (for members who have consented)
  • Sending information about scientific activities and congresses
  • Fulfilling the legal and statutory obligations of the association

Retention Period

Member data is kept for the entire duration of membership and then archived for five (5) years for statutory and accounting reasons. Data from simple contact forms is deleted no later than three (3) years after the last exchange.

In accordance with international data protection principles (inspired by the GDPR and current standards), you have the following rights:

  • Right of access to your personal data
  • Right to rectification in case of inaccuracy
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")
  • Right to portability in a structured format
  • Right to object and to restrict processing
